Question For Jerome Armstrong

Jerome,

I was wondering if the rumors were true regarding a story that is being written about you applying for a job with the Obama campaign along with other establishment bloggers.

My first thought is that the bitterness of your posts would be explained but then my concern moves to how damaging this would be to our community if a respected blogger would seek out retribution from a political candidate via your blog simply on the perceived basis that you were disgruntled.

Much, much more on the flip.

While as a blogger I want to believe that this is not the case but this rumor simply will not go away and I think it is time for Jerome to address this head on and move past this because while i'm not an Obama supporter I have noticed that his obsession with blowing things out of proportion or attacking Obama on the front page has gotten a little out of hand.

So did Jerome or any group or company that he is involved in apply for any type of contract or position with Obama's campaign?

I really hope I'm wrong but I'm hearing this from a lot of sources that I respect and none of them have any connection to Obama or a rival blog.

These Obama fanatics want all of us to take those childish bait. Forget about it.

When I refused to take their bait, refused to answer their dumb question, they got hysterically upset. SWEET.

Re: Question For Jerome Armstrong (none / 0)

Remember, Obama also likes to use this sort of 'bully' tactics to bully people within democratic party. They thought they had money now, so they could bully.

Don't be so short-sighted, just imagine what will happen in a few months when he loses badly.

He is your typical empty suit with no substance. A media creation.

Re: Question For Jerome Armstrong (3.00 / 7)

After discussing with about all of the campaigns, I told them all I wasn't interested in working a presidential campaign at this time. Instead, I've focused on other projects.

So did Jerome or any group or company that he is involved in apply for any type of contract or position with Obama's campaign? No.

But I heard that individuals, one in particular from Blue State Digital, were spreading such rumors lies.

Re: Question For Jerome Armstrong (none / 0)

see his comments below. This is a trap they like to set up. They want you to deny or comfirm to fabricate a story.

That's why they kept on asking whether I worked for Hill. campaign. This is why they tossed out the bogus 'naive' story as racial slur. The best way is not to never respond to specifics.

He is a dirty Chicago politician, no doubt. He loves GOPers more than any democrat.

This is the tactic that (3.00 / 1)

some followers use.  I first saw it on Daily Kos with Sirota and BTD last fall.  They criticized Obama and were viciously attacked.

I advocate a lot for Edwards.  Just today I was accused of being a shill in the employ of a campaign. I have been accused of being unpatriotic.  Hypocrite is one of the favorite attacks. Use of personal insults is their tactic.

Every candidate has supporters that get out of hand, and I am not perfect either. Most Obama supporters do not do this. Nonetheless, of all the supporters, some Obama followers are most akin to a religion.  They seek to tear down any person who criticizes Obama.

Issues do not matter.  It is a personal allegiance.  Pro war, ani-war, he could switch on a dime, and these few folks would attack anyone who dared to say what is before us all.

I commend you for your patience with a diary like this.

Re: Question For Jerome Armstrong (none / 0)

This is the tactic they enjoy. They want to use some frivolic quotes as some sort of racial slur. They want you to respond.

The way to deal with these jerks is to not to get into their mud, don't act like you are 'guilty' and need to respond to them in their questioning.

This Obama guy really scares me. He seems to enjoy this sort of dirty tactics to combat his democratic opponents, not GOPers.

I really see no difference between an Obama administration and the current one. Both are pretty much deranged.

by andgarden on Wed Aug 01, 2007 at 03:59:22 PM EST

It's So Simple (none / 0)

If any candidate starts making noises that make you think they are going to wreck the country (and, of course, the party), then, when enough of these noises get made, you are going to get critical of that candidate. Obama has been shooting what some of us see as some very inaccurate shots from the hip, lately. I don't blame Jerome at all for getting tired of Obama's mistakes. Bush has made us all tired of dumb mistakes, and presidential stupidity is much out of favor currently. Maybe it will go into fashion again someday.

I used to think the Edwards boosters were too agressive but this is looking bad for Obama. Just so people will know, you can't make your favorite candidate look any better by attacking people who do not look to support your candidate. They all have flaws, and we have to argue about those flaws, but we should try very hard to avoid being rude.

Then there's this:

This person's diary is what's wrong with our party. Add to Hotlist

Re: Question For Jerome Armstrong (1.50 / 2)

something is up here, I may get banned for saying this but the anti-Obama spin on everything by Jerome does seem to be a personal vandetta of some sort, if Obama takes a "netroots" friendly position he attacks it, if he has a more hawksih position that's bad too, what disturbs me is not the fact that he's anti-Obama it's that he doesn't want to admit it and simply be regarded as for another candidate. Instead Jerome pretends to be some sort of portrayer of conventional wisdom of the blogesphere calling out Obama time after time with hit pieces camaflauged as anylasis.

Interestingly, as a Trusted User, someone, apparently Jerpome, decided I would have troll rating abilities.

I exercised it.

Apparently, you are rating based on my ratings decision. As I understand the community moderation function, you are violating the ratings system.

But I could be wrong. I am just a community member here. Maybe Jerome will straighten me out.

the only thing that troubles me is if he's seen as some kind of non biased observer, if Jerome want's to turn this site into a cesspool of anti-Obama diatribe it's his right, but other media sources who look for quotes and backround about what the blogosphere thinks about the dem candidates need to know where people are coming from and why.
